According to the specs, the capacitive screen has 4ms response time, vs 9ms for the infrared.
But more importantly, which is supported by DTouch?
Also, why not consider a PQ Labs G5S frame and a good LED TV of your choice?

Re: What can D-Touch do for me?
I'll give you some response, based on my use of DTouch with Pro Tools, on OSX, with a Zaagtech IR touchframe on a 42" tv: I've read that I can control plugins and VSTIs? What plugins and instruments are not supported? I've read that touch support for plugins and instruments is independent of th...

Re: D-Touch over Ethernet?
Someone can correct me if I am wrong, but...
DTouch is an application that runs as an overlay on top of your DAW -- it is not a standalone DAW controller.
Instead, it is designed to provide a direct interface to your DAW.

Re: Cubase DTouch Windows questions
My DTouch/Pro Tools config has my touchscreen as the secondary monitor, and when go thru the DTouch setup, I get to indicate by touching vs. mouse-clicking which monitor is used for touch and which is not. I would think that is all you need to do. Then, once DTouch is up and running for the first ti...

Floating Mixer Bank?
I tried the new version of DTouch for Pro Tools on OSX, and really like the floating fader on the Edit window. That got me thinking. Would it be easy now to do that for a bank of faders? Say 16, or at least 8? And, would it be possible to turn that into a standalone product that could more easily su...

Re: Any Thoughts on DTouch for Harrison Mixbus?
Mixbus _has_ announced they are working on a hardware controller that is "button for button" compatible with Mixbus. Not sure when that would come. But, I posed the question to Ben Loftis in the Mixbus forum, about multitouch support, and he pointed me to the developers chat area, and soun...

Re: Hello and Questions about Dtouch - new user
I echo the comments about not having a hardware controller that is too deep, in front of your touchscreen. I moved away from a Mackie MCU system because I continually found myself primarily looking at the screen, and wanting to interface with the DAW itself, which is your digitial "console"...
