This seems like a good aspect ratio for a touch screen

If this were a touch screen, I could see it even working for DAW use with this curvature.

I have thought for a long time that even a 21:9 would be great for DAW use.

But even today, if I am not mistaken, the only touchscreen support for that ratio is from Zaagtech, and even then, it is by special request.

I don't think PQ Labs even offers a 21:9 option.

And for capacitive touchscreens, it really seems that 16:9 is where the industry is stalled at.

But yes, a 32:9 screen would be very useful!

The "curved" trend would be a killer for the IR technology. Anyway, not good news for the Projected Capacitive technology too.

Here’s an ultra wide touch screen:

Horrible bezel, but at least we’re starting to see wider ones....

I found another ultra wide touch screen.

I'm not sure if it's multi touch though.
Ive asked them to give some more information on it (although I forgot to ask whether it's multi touch).

Interesting!
It would be very helpful to know all the dimensions. My dream would be a multitouch screen slightly larger than a standard QWERTY keyboard.
There are some manufacturers in the Far-East which can build custom multi-touch glass (for mass-production quantities, 1000 Pcs for example). The real problem is the LCD panel, which needs super-high manufacturing technology (not for us :( ).

Me too. I think a slab between the size of a keyboard and a faderbank, would be very handy for:
- faders
- keyboard/trackpad
- macro buttons
- navigation
- etc.

Especially in combination with a 27" 16:9 screen for editing and plugin control.

You see, I've noticed that the ideal touch screen angle to edit audio/ plugins is different from the ideal touch screen angle to edit faders.
It would be fine for me to be able to toggle between fader view and macro vier, for instance on the the smaller ultra wide slab.
You could even try a special mode that super imposes functionalities (using two finger pairs to fade, single fingers to type, three fingers to navigate, four fingers to bank, for example, even though that might slow down fader response).

Anyway, I'm interested in a relatively small ultra wide touch screen slab, to replace my keyboard/trackpad/mouse.

by the way, these south african 21,5" Mecer touch screens are pretty nice in terms of bezels if you want a horizontal ultra wide array with little 'gap'.

this one looks best to get nice and flat on the desk as a mixer.. https://www.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/s ... atures/ut1

I wish they would make that in 25" ultrawide
