Hello there,
in my setting, starting DTouch causes Windows to deactivate "Windows Cleartype"
Did i miss to read something in the manual or is it a bug?

no this is not a bug and we never mentioned this in the User Guide.
The reason for this is simple: DTouch for Cubase use a sort of OCR to detect some properties from the Cubase GUI.
Having the Cleartype active rises incredibly the complexity of DTouch job.
We know that some users don't like this, but at the moment the automatic switch-off of the Cleartype is the most secure way to have DTouch working.
In future we could work on this and try to avoid this undesiderable behaviour.

I am not a fan of it either but I can live with it. The only time I can't live with it is on the odd occasion when DTouch crashes and because of the crash it doesn't have the ability to turn ClearType back on and then I have to run through the Windows ClearType setup process again to turn it back on.
I have never really understood the ClearType function in Windows. I don't understand why the default setting in Windows is a crap font quality and you need to to turn on a special setting to make it nice. Does anybody actually leave ClearType turned off in a normal use.
